The present building of the former tobacco factory was built in 1896 and belonged to the merchant A.N. Zausailov. At the end of the 19th century it was one of the biggest enterprises not only in Yelets but in the Orel province.

Since 1983 the building of the factory is included in the Lipetsk Region Cultural Heritage list of objects under the state protection (it is considered a regional object according to the decision of Lipetsk Regional Deputies’ Council Executive Committee from 26.01.1983, № 51).
