The inauguration of the bust of Mikhail Sergeevich Solomentsev was held on September 12, 1984. Mikhail Sergeevich was an outstanding political leader of the USSR. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Order of the Red Star among other medals. M. S. Solomentsev was twice commissioned as a Hero of Socialist Labour for service to the Motherland (1973, 1983). The project designers are the sculptor Lev Kerbel who also sculpted a number of other monuments in our country and abroad, and the architect G.G. Lebedev.
